Adopt An Adorable New Family Member This June!
June is Adopt A Cat Month! This time of year kittens are at their peak! You can bring home a brand new family member! The best place to go to do this is your local shelter. Rescue your newest family member and support your local shelter this June. Multnomah County Animal Services is a good place to start your search for a cat to adopt into your family.
When thinking of adopting a cat, you should look over a good adoption checklist to make sure you and your family are truly ready for the commitment of bringing in a new feline member to the family. The ninth item on the adoption checklist is to make sure you include your new feline in your family’s emergency plan.
Be sure to include your new pet in your family’s emergency plan. You probably have a plan in place for getting your family to safety in case of an emergency. Adjust this plan to include your pets. Add phone numbers for your veterinarian and closest 24-hour animal hospital to your “in-case-of-emergency” call list.
